Despite my liking of my own British sailors uniforms as they fit nice and tight but it is not quite as revealing as the US sailors ones especially their Blues. With a nice short top (middy) which can have a side zip to have it fit really snug those bell bottoms that hug the thighs that also show off those 13 buttons surrounding a taut flap which usually reveals a nice bulge. Pity that nowadays they do not wear them as tight as they once did.
Whoever designed this style certainly knew what they were doing. One button for the original 13 states is so perfect. Not sure how they would look today with 50 States! Would be buttoned down to the ankles I would think.
In Vintage shots without tight underwear some good natural bulges were easy to spot
Even onboard wearing the Working Blues can be revealing
